Mission Statement
St. Clement’s School develops women of character by encouraging academic excellence, self-confidence, leadership, and independent thinking in an enriching, supportive environment.
Philosophy
St. Clement’s School provides a sound, stimulating, and challenging education in preparation for higher education, lifelong learning, and a commitment to the common good. Through its extensive curriculum and rich community life, the School helps each student to achieve her full potential and to develop critical thinking, good citizenship, kindness, self-discipline, and a sense of humour.
An early prospectus outlined the School’s aims as follows:
- To give a wise and sane training in the Anglican tradition, developing the ideals of justice, honour and responsibility
- To give a sound, thorough, and broad secular education
- To teach courtesy, self-reliance, and good sportsmanship, inculcating the principles of good citizenship
We deeply respect and honour our tradition. We also celebrate that our student body is multicultural, and students come from a broad variety of backgrounds. The School models what we want in our students—a belief in the dignity of all peoples, and in the validity of many forms of cultural and religious identities and expressions.
St. Clement’s students learn to share success and to support one another. In all things, the School aims to continue to be, as its founders intended, an institution of "sound learning and good fellowship," one "developing the ideals of justice, honour, and responsibility."
The School’s Objectives
