Action Art!

[scs_gallery gallery_ids=”34″ is_row=”true”/]

Yesterday our Grade 2s and 3s participated in Action Art, an abstract form of painting which emphasizes spontaneous and energetic movement. They were inspired by artist Ushio Shinohara, an 81-year-old old Japanese artist known for boxing his art onto a canvas, using sponges tied to boxing gloves and dipped in paint. While the Grade 2s focused on boxing art, the Grade 3s used balls to bounce, roll, and splatter paint all over large canvas. Beautiful and inspiring art was a result!
