Our Application Process Explained
We aim to make the application process easy. Please get in touch if you have any questions.
To learn more about the process, scroll through the steps below.
1. Come Visit Us.
We are excited to return to in-person tours and open houses! We will also continue to offer virtual tours for out-of-province applicants, as well as holding a virtual open house. You can explore our spaces with a virtual 360 tour. Fill out an inquiry form to receive the virtual tour or to register for an open house!
2. Apply by the Deadline.
Applications will be accepted in the fall of the year prior to the desired year of entry. This year’s application deadline is Thursday, December 1, 2022. Late applications will be accepted based on available space.
3. Provide Documents.
Please provide the following documents along with the application: a recent photo of the applicant; the applicant’s final reports from the past three years and any reports from the current year; a copy of the applicant’s birth certificate or passport; education assessment(s) or IEP(s), if applicable; the non-refundable application fee of $250. You will be able to access the portal repeatedly to upload these documents.
4. Have a Personal Interview.
Families will be given the opportunity to schedule a personal interview after we receive all the required documents, excluding reports from this year that have yet to be released. Formal interview preparation is not encouraged. Applicants for Grades 1-4 will be interviewed with their parents. Applicants for Grades 5-12 will begin with a one-on-one interview before parents are invited to join. Out-of-province applicants will be given the opportunity to have a virtual interview. In-person interviews also provide the opportunity to tour the School with a student ambassador.
5. Complete the Entrance Assessments.
(Grades 1 - 6)
Applicants will be required to complete an assessment, in winter 2023. Applicants to Grades 2-6 will write the assessment on Saturday, February 4, 2023. Applicants to Grade 1 will write the assessment on a weekday morning in January or February of 2023. Assessments will cover grade level literacy and numeracy expectations, as well as a small group activity.
6. Complete the Entrance Assessments.
Applicants to Grades 7-9 will be required to complete an in-person assessment, which will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Out-of-province applicants will be required to write the SSAT or ISEE. Applicants to Grades 10-12 will be required to complete a virtual writing assessment and will have the option to select their preferred assessment date from a few options in December 2022 or January 2023. No additional preparation is required for these assessments, as they will be appropriate for the applicant’s current grade.
7. Receive Your Offer.
Families will be notified of our decisions on Friday, February 24, 2023. Enrolment contracts must be returned by Wednesday, March 1, 2023. The Toronto Consortium of Independent Schools is a collective of admissions professionals at Branksome Hall, BSS, Crescent, Greenwood, Havergal, RSGC, SCS, UCC, and UTS. Member schools have collaborated to require a common application deadline and a common decision day in an effort to support and assist applicant families.

It’s different here at St. Clement’s School. There’s something special going on, a kind of energy filled with curiosity and courage. It’s the way our students approach things, from learning to discovery to play. It’s the way we teach – more than just the requisite skills, the ability to think deeply, critically, creatively, and become more self-aware.
At SCS, your child will be challenged while being encouraged to be herself. She will be supported and will grow in ways you have yet to imagine.
Come in. Talk to us. See it. Feel it for yourself.
