Our Application Process Explained

We aim to make the application process easy. Please get in touch if you have any questions.

To learn more about the process, scroll through the steps below.

1. Come Visit Us.

Attend one of our upcoming fall Open Houses: Friday, October 17 and Friday, November 14 from 9:00-11:15 a.m. Registration details below.

2. Apply by the Deadline.

Applications are open for the 2026-2027 school year. The deadline to apply is Monday, December 1, 2025. Late applications will be accepted based on available space; please contact the Admissions Office.

3. Provide Documents.

Please provide the following documents along with the application: a recent photo of the applicant; the applicant’s final reports from the past three years and any reports from the current year; a copy of the applicant’s birth certificate or passport; education assessment(s) or IEP(s), if applicable; and the non-refundable application fee of $250. You will have continued access to the portal to be able to update and upload these documents.

4. Have a Personal Interview.

Families will be given the opportunity to schedule a personal interview after we receive all the required documents, excluding reports from this year that have yet to be released. Formal interview preparation is not encouraged. Applicants for Grades 1-4 will be interviewed with their parents. Applicants for Grades 5-12 will begin with a one-on-one interview before parents are invited to join. Out-of-province applicants will be given the opportunity to have a virtual interview. In-person interviews also provide the opportunity to tour the School with a student ambassador.

5. Complete the Entrance Assessments.
(Grades 1 - 6)

Applicants will be required to complete an assessment on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Assessments will cover grade level literacy and numeracy expectations, as well as a small group activity. No additional preparation is required for these assessments, as they will be appropriate for the applicant’s current grade.

6. Complete the Entrance Assessments.
(Grades 7-12)

Applicants to Grades 7-12 will be required to complete an entrance assessment on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Out-of-province applicants will be required to write the SSAT or ISEE. No additional preparation is required for these assessments, as they will be appropriate for the applicant’s current grade.

7. Receive Your Offer.

Applicants in the regular fall and winter application season will be notified of our decision in late February, the shared Toronto Consortium of Schools date. Applicants in the spring and summer will be notified within a few weeks of completing their Admissions process. The Toronto Consortium of Independent Schools is a collective of admissions professionals at Branksome Hall, BSS, Crescent, Greenwood, Havergal, RSGC, SCS, UCC, UTS, and York. Member schools have collaborated to require a common application deadline and a common decision day in an effort to support and assist applicant families.

Instructions

Please create or access your application account through the parent portal. The items below are required for the application. You will be able to return to the parent portal to add these items throughout the process:

1. A recent photograph of the applicant.
2. The applicant’s final reports from the previous three years and any reports available for the current year.
3. A copy of the applicant’s birth certificate or passport.
4. Educational assessment(s) and IEP(s), if applicable.
5. The non-refundable application fee of $250, or Early Bird Application Fee of $200 before November 1.
