Our ApproachTo Learning.
We don’t just want our girls to thrive at school. We want them to thrive in today’s connected, complicated world. A world that needs women who can question and discern, connect within and across disciplines, speak up and out as they articulate ideas and insights, and push forward in times of complexity and uncertainty.
These traits can’t solely be taught in a classroom setting. However, they can be developed at a school – our school – where Grade 12s model confidence for Grade 1s, by virtue of being together every day in the same building; where the learning space isn’t just our own campus, but a network of community spaces and partners expanding far beyond our walls; where the development of leadership skills starts from Grade 1 on up to Grade 12, so that leading – and collaborating – are completely natural.
That’s what today’s world requires – and it is why we are unwaveringly dedicated to what we do and how we do it.
LINCWell
LINCWell is a full school (Grades 1 to 12) approach designed to craft a school experience for each of our girls that is characterized by Learning, Individualization, Nurturing, Creativity, and Wellness (LINCWell.) Our goal, in all that we do, is to enable our girls to learn well, lead well, and live well.
LINCWell is not an āadd-onā that our girls choose, like an elective course or a sport. It is integral to everything that SCS offers and informs all that we do. It is experienced by everyone from our youngest Grade 1 students to our graduates about to transition to their next phase of life.
LINCWell provides the foundation to everything we do at SCS, so that by the time our girls head out into the world beyond our School, they have developed into young women who are confidently poised to take on that world, in whatever way they choose.
Latest Technology
St. Clement’s School believes that technology is an important component to leveraging and enriching student learning.
With a focus on accessibility and flexibility, students and staff benefit from a balanced and integrated approach to technology and learning.
Students in Grade 1 are provided with iPads, and Chromebooks are provided for students in Grades 2-6. Our Bring Your Own Device Program (BYOD) is mandatory for students in Grades 7-12. The BYOD program allows students and their families to choose their own mobile device for study and work, and provides flexibility to ensure the purchase makes sense for their individual households. Our Faculty plan their courses knowing there will be a variety of platforms and tools in use.
Library & Resource Centre
The Lassonde Library is a central hub for our community of learners.
Students from Grades 1-12 share this collaborative and inviting space for classes and to access computer and library resources. Our Head of Library and Information Services is integral to our academic program, working collaboratively with faculty to ensure students have exceptional access to resources and support to enhance learning.
Experiential Education
Our approach to experiential education is another way we live our mission.
The passion to learn about – and from – other people and places is ignited. The courage to challenge personal boundaries and step outside comfort zones is strengthened. The curiousity to explore new places, ideas, and activities is inspired.
About SCS
Our mission is to develop outstanding women who are intellectually curious, courageous, and compassionate.
