Give Her Space

Welcome toSt. Clement’s School.

It’s different here at SCS. There’s something special going on, a kind of energy filled with curiosity and courage. It’s the way our students approach things, from learning to discovery to play. It’s the way we teach – more than just the requisite skills, the ability to think deeply, critically, creatively, and become more self-aware.

We fundamentally believe each student is unique, and should be known and valued as such, and that if they are to develop and thrive, learning should be as unique as they are.

At SCS, your daughter will be challenged while being encouraged to be herself. She will be supported and will grow in ways you have yet to imagine.

The SCS Experience
Take A Peek Inside SCS

For Students

We don’t just want students at SCS to thrive. We want them to boldly thrive – to see disruption as opportunity, to seize change with agility and imagination, to tackle the complex world of tomorrow with confidence and character. SCS students will flourish because they are empowered by purpose and the ability to see themselves as agents of change, challenged by the unknown, challenged to architect their own self-sustaining journeys.

Discover why SCS is the top choice for girls who want to create their own distinct path, and navigate it with confidence.

For Parents

At St. Clement’s School, your child will be supported, encouraged, and challenged.

Our commitment to academic excellence has defined the SCS experience for over a century. Your child’s educational journey will be marked by academic rigour and a renewed curriculum that continually challenges and assesses the act of learning itself in an inclusive and safe environment.

The goal is for each of our students to value learning as an outcome in itself, understanding it’s about the success of the journey, not just the destination.

Before February concluded, Black History Month was recognized with an informative and inspiring full school assembly presented by SCS’s Anti-Oppression Alliance, highlighting this year’s theme: 30 Years of Black History Month, Honouring Black Brilliance Across Generations.

The assembly opened with a look at well-known Black activists and artists, followed by a second set of lesser-known figures whose stories often go untold. Students shared the achievements of Surya Bonaly, the figure skater who performed a banned (at the time) backflip on one blade at the 1998 Olympics; musician Tracy Chapman; and mathematician Katherine Johnson.

The spotlight then shifted to Black Canadians, which included the story of Emerson Swift Mahon presented by SCS’s Jewish Student Affinity Group, who left Grenada for Canada as a young man and converted to Judaism; and Uzoma Asagwara, a non-binary Nigerian Canadian who serves as Manitoba’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, Seniors and Long Term Care.

Presenters encouraged everyone to reflect on why some stories are celebrated while others are overlooked, noting for example the contrast between Surya Bonaly being penalized for her backflip and the praise given to a similar move at this year’s Winter Olympics.

Last week's assembly concluded with a quote from Ta-Nehisi Coates: “All my life I'd heard people tell their black boys and black girls to be 'twice as good,' which is to say 'accept half as much.'”
A reminder for SCS alums - we'd love to include your Class Notes in the spring 2026 Red Blazer! Please send any updates, news, and photos to meagan.thomas@scs.on.ca by March 27. We can't wait to see what you've been up to! 🙌
