Happy New Year

Ringing in a new year provides a time for reflection and an opportunity to consider what the future will bring. Typically, one takes stock of what one has accomplished and resolves to accomplish various tasks and goals over the coming year. It is a time when many feel they can refocus, begin anew, occasionally “shift gears,” and challenge themselves to grow.

The same is true for our St. Clement’s community as we prepare for the remainder of the year and the future.

As our current 2012-2017 St. Clement’s School Strategic Plan ends in June, our community is returning to school in January to reflect, challenge ourselves, and to set goals for the longer term in a focused, inclusive way. We will be working towards the creation of our next Strategic Plan: building on the work that has been completed, clarifying our uniqueness as a School community, and focusing our priorities and goals for the future.

Setting a path forward is paramount as we continue our important work of developing outstanding women who are intellectually curious, courageous and compassionate. Successful preparation of our girls and young women for an ever-changing future must be at the core of all that we consider and do. We must challenge ourselves to be reflective as well as visionary, and to ensure that our School values support and guide us in our work.

It is our desire that all constituents in our community- students, parents, alumnae, and staff- take part in this important process. Please be reminded that the School is hosting a facilitated Strategic Planning Town Hall on Thursday, January 19 from 6-9 p.m. for St. Clement’s Parents and Alumnae. If you are able to attend, please contact Mrs. Suzi Leonard. For those unable to attend, your participation is important to us, and we have provided a link to a survey with key questions that will guide our work.

Our staff and students will be working through important questions throughout this term as well, and we look forward to keeping the community informed as to our progress over the coming months.

I wish you all a very happy, healthy New Year and an exciting and positive future; I look forward to our working together to ensure the same for St. Clement’s School.
