Learning doesn’t need to take a summer vacation! St. Clement’s School offers a number of opportunities during the summer to expand your knowledge, learn about something new, or get ahead for next year.

The opportunities outlined below are available exclusively to SCS students.


Summer School

St. Clement’s School offers Ontario credit courses designed to provide students with an exceptional academic experience commencing in June.

This unique schedule allows course completion by mid-July, affording students more time during their summer months to work, attend camp, travel, or vacation with family. SCS Summer School 2019 runs from Monday, June 24 to Friday, July 19.

Courses Offered

Advanced Functions (MHF4U)

This course extends students’ experience with functions. Students will investigate the properties of polynomial, rational, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions; broaden their understanding of rates of change; and develop facility in applying these concepts and skills.

Prerequisite: MCR3U

Students will also refine their use of the mathematical processes necessary for success in senior mathematics. This course is intended both for students taking the Calculus and Vectors course as a prerequisite for a university program and for those wishing to consolidate their understanding of mathematics before proceeding to any one of a variety of university programs.

Students will require a TI-83 or TI-84 graphing calculator.

Note: This course tends to fill up quickly, and enrollment is limited.

Cooperative Education

This course includes a classroom component, comprising pre-placement and integration activities, and a placement component.

Prerequisite: Career Studies GLC2O. Students must submit a separate Cooperative Education Placement Interest Form that will be sent to them upon registration.

This course includes a classroom component, comprising pre-placement and integration activities, and a placement component. The cooperative education placement and credit will be based upon a related successfully completed course of the student’s choice.

The textbook and workbook for Cooperative Education will be supplied by the school and given to the students on the first day of classes. A fee of approximately $55 will be required for these course materials, which is in addition to the standard course tuition. The bulk of the student’s time will be spent at their placement organization. Students are required to arrange their own transportation to and from their placement.

This summer, our Summer Enrichment Program returns!

These courses will help you to explore particular areas of interest through a small group intensive session. Expand your skills in an area, or investiate an area you’ve never experienced.

Summer 2019:
STEAM Enrichment Program

This dynamic program is designed specifically for girls going into Grades 5 or 6 and provides daily design challenges that develop Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts/Design, and Math (STEAM) skills, creativity, and teamwork. Students practice design thinking, build and test prototypes, and come away with enhanced confidence in their ability to solve problems and design practical solutions.
