SCS’s Hockey Team took to the ice yesterday at De La Salle College’s first-ever Brother Arthur Memorial Girls Hockey Tournament. Held at DLS’s Oaklands Campus, SCS was one of six teams to participate in the inaugural competition where they found themselves playing in the first game against the hosts before the sun had even edged above the horizon, and later facing Crestwood Preparatory College and Greenwood College.
While the entire day-long tournament was a great thrill, the ice-ing on the cake was having the ceremonial puck drop in the first game conducted by Amelia Boughn ’14; former SCS, Cornell, and UBC goalie, and representative of the Professional Women’s Hockey Players’ Association.
The SCS team left the arena with big smiles and great spirits having concluded the history-making tourney on a winning note.
