After just missing out on a spot in the final four during the regular season, the Senior Soccer team lost in the consolation finals at the CAIS tournament held at The Country Day School. Meanwhile, the U15 Soccer team lost a very close match to Branksome Hall in the first round of the playoffs and the U12 Soccer team ended a fun season with a cold and snowy day at Holy Trinity School. So inhospitable were the elements that our courageous Clementines had to wear their winter jackets under their soccer jerseys to stay warm!
The Senior Basketball team finished the regular season in 3rd place before losing a very close semi-final. However, they defeated Bishop Strachan School to finish third overall and competed in the CAIS National tournament at BSS and The York School in November. Despite injuries and illnesses, the U14 Basketball side still succeeded in finishing the regular season in 4th place in their division. The U13 Basketball team had an excellent season, narrowly missing out on a spot in the final four, while the U12 Basketball side continued to pick up steam and ended the season with a very strong showing at their final tournament at Hillfield Strathallan College.
The SCS Field Hockey improved their skills over the course of the season before finishing in 4th place. They lost in the semi-finals to a strong Lakefield College School team who went on to win the Championship.
The Senior Cross Country team had an amazing season with Ellie Stevens, Elizabeth Shannon, Yoyo Benchetrit, Kelly Lang, and Kate Botha (all ’20) finishing as CISAA Champions with Yoyo and Kate finishing 1st and 2nd respectively. Molly Gipson ’21 finished second in the midget girls and Sarah Clements ’20 came in 3rd in senior girls. All seven represented SCS and the CISAA at OFSAA in early November. Meanwhile, the Junior Cross Country team had another great season.
In the pool, our Tad and Junior swim teams both finished in 2nd place at the Bishop’s Cup and the combined SCS team (Tad/U14/Junior/Senior) finished in 3rd overall.
All of our teams were celebrated for their outstanding fall seasons at our annual Fall Athletic Celebration and Breakfast on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.
