SCS #SportsSpotlight – Georgia P. ’21, Sailing

Georgia P. ’21 started learning to sail during the summer of her Grade 1 year, and credits her two brothers with getting her involved in the sport. In addition to her siblings, she recognizes other family members, friends, coaches, and teachers with getting her where she is today. And where is that? Sailing events around the world, like recent competitions in Portugal, Ecuador, and Antigua. Georgia competes in a class called Optimist, and she’s currently ranked as the top Canadian for this class of boat.

Georgia loves the feeling of freedom when out on the water and, as such, has no future plans to come ashore. When she’s older, she hopes to represent Canada in the Olympics, just as many of her coaches have done.
