Spring (No, Really!) at SCS

sights-and-sounds-poster-wpAs we eagerly await the arrival of spring-like conditions outside, we sat down with Natalie LaForest, the Head of the Arts Department, to hear what will soon be blooming at SCS. (Hopefully) milder weather will usher in one of the biggest Arts events of the year, Sights & Sounds of Spring! Here’s what we can expect from this year’s celebration.

What can we expect to experience at Sights & Sounds this year?

Sights & Sounds of Spring is the Arts Department’s annual spring showcase. Creativity will be on display everywhere you turn April 16! The main floor gallery will house the works of art of every Clementine in Grades 7 to 12. A little springtime serenade courtesy of our Grade 1 – 12 musicians (bands, choirs, and orchestra) will take place in Powell Hall. And of course, no showcase would be complete without a spirited showing by our dance students. It is an evening to celebrate the Arts and the coming of spring!

Why should people attend this event?

It is a fantastic evening full of creativity. It showcases the talents of almost every girl in the School and in all artistic mediums. It is also the final performance opportunity of the year – and that means Sights & Sounds is our grads’ last curtain call!

What makes Sights & Sounds stand out from other Arts Department events?

It is our department’s largest event and it involves all of the Arts. The event allows the girls to demonstrate the creative skills they have developed throughout the year in class as well as in co-curricular clubs. The event will leave you utterly inspired!
