St. Clement’s School Charity for 2019-2020: Hockey 4 Youth

Each school year, St. Clement’s School adopts a charity to support through various fundraising efforts and a general awareness campaign. The charity chosen for the 2019-2020 school year is Hockey 4 Youth (H4Y).

H4Y’s mission is to help low-income youth and youth who are new to Canada to have the opportunity to play ice hockey without having to pay the high costs involved in the sport. Not only do these teens of all genders aged 13 to 18 learn and play the sport at no cost while staying fit and having fun, the initiative also helps facilitate social inclusion and participants learn valuable life skills through H4Y’s T.E.A.C.H. program (Technology, Entrepreneurship, Application, Community-giving, Healthy-active living).

To date, H4Y has assisted students from 25 different countries of origin including Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Haiti, Jamaica, India, and Somalia and it is currently helping more than 100 high school students from five high-priority Toronto neighborhoods.

St. Clement’s School is proud to be associated with Hockey 4 Youth and looks forward to helping this valuable social organization continue its work with youth.
