At SCS, reading is better together! Through our Hooked on Books club, students and their special guests come together to explore interesting books and create lasting memories throughout the year. Find out why participation in this club resonates with Junior School families at our link in bio. 📖
Happy Canada Day to our SCS community! 🇨🇦

Today, we celebrate the diversity of our people, the natural beauty of our land, and our collective commitment to reconciliation and peace. As we reflect on our past, let’s continue working toward a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
At the 2026 International Coalition of Girls’ Schools (ICGS) Global Conference last week, Junior School Learning Strategist AnnMarie Zigrossi (pictured third from left) reunited with the six teachers from the UK, Australia, and the US she has been mentoring for the last 18 months! AnnMarie has been providing her insight and expertise as these teachers successfully completed their own action research into AI interventions in the classroom, as part of ICGS’ Global Action Research Collaborative (GARC). Participating Research Fellows study how a girls’ school education impacts students’ confidence, leadership, learning, and wellbeing, supported by Advisors like AnnMarie. (AnnMarie’s own research into mindfulness in Grade 3 earned her the GARC Researcher of the Year Award in 2023!)
St. Clement’s School was proud to have a lot of representation at last week’s International Coalition of Girls’ Schools (ICGS) Global Conference!

After an SCS choir officially opened the event in the best musical way, we had several staff members lending their varied expertise to the global conference proceedings.

Principal Martha Perry acted as a Mentor for the Global Leadership Institute, which is a one-year ICGS fellowship to advance leadership expertise in girls’ organizations worldwide.

Jaime Malic, Teacher and Researcher, and Heather Henricks, Vice Principal, presented “Learning to Thrive: Talking to Alum about Preparedness for Life After Graduation”, which highlighted insights from the School’s first five-year longitudinal research study (still underway) which aims to move beyond traditional measures of preparedness like grades or test scores and instead, gather the voices of recent SCS graduates.

Mark Will, Curriculum and Department Leader, Social Sciences, delivered “The Survey is Dead! Long Live the Survey! Building Girls’ Engagement in History”. His session explored how traditional survey courses can be reimagined, helping students learn thematically and collaboratively across time periods while strengthening their historical thinking skills.

AnnMarie Zigrossi, Junior School Learning Strategist and an ICGS In-School Mentor with their Global Action Research Collaborative co-presented “Stronger Together: A Global Emotions Project”, sharing a two-year international research collaboration with two Australian schools: Seymour College in Adelaide and Pymble Ladies’ College in Sydney. The project explored how explicitly teaching emotional regulation skills to girls can support wellbeing and help them build personalized coping and resilience strategies for school and beyond.

It is so inspiring to see SCS staff members bring their knowledge and passion for advancing girls’ education to a global community!
