SCS Alum and Past Staff – Join Us for Alumnae Book Club: The Dutch House

The first edition of SCS’s new Alumnae Book Club was held in the Lassonde Library in November to great acclaim with former SCS English teacher Ruth Griffiths leading a lively discussion on Ian McEwan’s novel, Machines Like Me.

With the turn of a new year, the Club returns with a new book.

On Thursday, January 30, join SCS alum and former SCS English teacher Julia Scott as we delve into Ann Patchett’s The Dutch House.

Described by the Boston Globe as having “the richness, allusiveness, and emotional heft of the best fiction” and as “unusual, thoughtful and oddly exciting” by the Columbus Dispatch, Patchett’s latest novel is a richly moving story that explores the indelible bond between two siblings, the house of their childhood, and a past that will not let them go.

Pick up a copy of this great novel and join SCS’s Alumnae Book Club for our second entertaining and stimulating evening. Please join us at SCS in the Lassonde Library from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., or participate remotely.

To RSVP, please get in touch with Meagan Thomas at meagan.thomas@scs.on.ca
