One of the wonderful things about learning and participating in an all-girls environment is that we see our girls blossom. They are encouraged to take risks, to advocate and to believe in themselves.

The Friday morning before Thanksgiving weekend is always one that provides fun and entertainment for all. The day begins with a breakfast with the returning Grads from the previous year and is followed by assembly and a volleyball game against our current Grade 12s.

The Canadian Accredited Independent Schools www.cais.ca includes 90 schools across Canada who meet National Standards and are committed to ongoing research and professional development. Each member school goes through an accreditation process every 7 years.

Over the last few days, I have had many opportunities to connect with our new staff members at St. Clement’s, and to ask them about their first few weeks at the School.

This year is a particularly special one as we launch our 2012-2017 Strategic Plan, which encompasses our goals of an inspiring and balanced learning experience, strong local and global connections and an engaged and supportive community.

As our first week wrapped up, I couldn’t help thinking about just how fortunate I am to be able to work with such an incredible community. I think we sometimes take for granted that our girls are consistently excited and enthusiastic about coming to school each day.
